Default Ursan Blessing Question

I am and Ele/Warrior with a fire build. As an Ursan R9, I have equiped a Zealous Falchion of Fortitude, Health+30, Ins: I have the Power, Energy +5, Energy Gain on hit 1, Energy Regeneration -1 c/w a Tengu Fire Focus, Energy +12 Rq 9 Fire Magic, Insc: Live for Today, Energy +15, Energy Regeneration -1.

So my question is given the above why during a battle do I lose all my energy. Should it not be self sustaining?? TIA for any help....Ram

Well you should be getting energy as long as you hit and are being hit. If you are just using skills and not takeing hits you will run out. Or you are being spiked with several energy drains. Very common from large groups of DoA Margonites, ie Spirit Shackels, Energy Drain ect.

Firstly, I'd strongly recommend putting 7/8 in tactics for an extra 15-16 shield armour and adding a +5 armour pommel instead of the fortitude. This will bring your AL up to 100-101, much more useful than the extra energy offered by your focus.

You really shouldn't be having energy issues with an ele pool, with the +1nrg when recieved damaged and +2 (ursan1 zealous1) on hit you should be well fed.

I'd imagine your issue stems from e-denial, which area specifically are you having the difficulty with?

Thanks for the quick response, I have yet to run Ursan in DOA and am aware of energy drain skills of certain foes also that there is an inhibited -2 energy loss but I expect that to be off set through battle which doesn't seem to be the case even with 101 energy as an Ursan I will run out while fighting. Guildies advise me they seldom if ever run out of energy using the Ursan skill so I am trying to figure out why I do.

I am still working at gathering Norn points farming out of Olafstead to max out the title so this is where I am at present and where my energy loss is occuring. Other than the previous suggestions is there anything drastically wrong with my weapons set that would cause the problem.

lol Is that a question or a statement because I am aware that ursan ends when your energy reaches zero. I want to know why my energy can reach zero while in battle and yes I know about the inhibt -2 energy drain of the skill

I think it's probably coming from the various veittirs. If you hit them with physical damage your energy is drained away. Try not hitting them with the sword (only with ursan skills) and see what happens. This is the only thing I know that would cause an ele to lose all their energy quickly.

Seconded. I can't think of anything else it could be.

it is not about being self sustaining.... everyone will lose ursan multiple times during quest/mission.... but its rather a timing game.... drop ursan when you know there will be a short slow down.... and bring it back up when needed... remember to lose ursan in a -5 energy set then switch to staff right outside ursan...

ALWAYS get a staff... preferably +5 & +5^50. Netting you +20. This crucial weapon set will keep you going in the heat of battle.

Yes Lady although I wasn't aware that attacking them with a weapon would cause energy drain I have experienced energy loss with the Veittirs however I don't think they are the problem. There are only a few battles they crop up in and my loss in energy seems to be from the continual -2 energy drain that the skill provides for. I should point out I do gain some hit energy during battle but it doesn't equal out and it will eventually drain me. This is not consistant with what I am being told by other Ursans and not that I expect to be invincible from energy loss I do expect to be able maintain the same status as other Ursans in the group.

Only in excess. I only really enjoy playing my necro these days and Ursan provides my melee fix without having to waste time with my warrior. Plus fow ursan runs are great for a quick plat fix. It can be fun, imo.

It also provides lesser skilled players the opportunity to complete the more difficult areas in HM etc..

I don't use Ursan much so i'm not sure..but it has an inherint -2 energy regen. Does the zealous and +15/-1 stack to do -4 energy regen? Cuz that could be the problem.

Althouth I don't employ a staff I do use a wand (rago's) and a flame artifact Enegy +12 Health +60 I change to during periods of inactivity. I can certainly try a staff though.

Nope, Ursan e-degen is fixed entirely. It can't be buffed by skills such as BR and it's not effected by the negatives of zealous and 15/1 focus mods etc..

I run with a necro (SR ftw) so I've never experienced a problem. I know warriors use a few weapon sets to manage their energy, I just figured with their greater pool there'd be little trouble with ele Ursans.

Any other eles here need to manage their energy with weapon sets?
